Awards and Travel Grants

*We ask that you refrain from booking flight tickets and accommodation until you confirm the status of landing permission from overseas around the time of the meeting. (The JSN will not be responsible for your flight/accommodation cancellation fees.)

*Travel grants cannot be provided if the travel grant winner is unable to give a presentation on-site.

Best Presentation Award for International Participants

The JSN reviewers will present the "Best Presentation Award for International Participants" to the top presenter among the nominees. The awards ceremony will be held during the Get Together on Wednesday, May 21.

Travel Grant

The Japanese Society of Neurology encourages neurologists from other countries to submit abstracts on clinical studies and basic research for oral and poster presentations. If a Travel Grant is approved, part of the travel expenses (excluding accommodation expenses) will be covered by the Society. Please review the instructions below before applying for a Travel Grant

Deadline for Travel Grant Application

November 25 (Monday), 2024, at noon (Japan Standard Time)

To Applicants
  1. Neurologists or neurology residents from countries other than Japan, as well as those studying or working in Japan, are eligible to apply.
    Only one abstract per applicant will be accepted.
  2. Applications are accepted only through online registration.
  3. The applicant must be the first author and presenter of the submitted abstract.
  4. Travel Grants will be provided to awardees after their abstract presentation.
  5. The Society will cover part of the travel expenses (excluding accommodation) for participants travelling from countries other than Japan. The amount of travel grant awarded will depend on the peer review score and the distance from the applicant's country to Japan.
    The Society will cover part of the travel expenses (excluding accommodation) for participants studying or working in Japan.
    Please note that complimentary accommodation will not be offered, and all arrangements for the applicant's transportation to the venue and accommodation during the congress period will be the applicant's responsibility.
  6. The applicant will also be responsible for visa requirements and processing the visa for entry to Japan. Please check the visa requirements on the Visa Application page.
  7. The review results will be announced on this website around mid-February.
  8. There is no age limitation.
  9. Please note that applicants who are coming to Japan for another meeting during the same period and have their travel expenses covered by another organization will not be eligible for Travel Grants.
  10. Travel grants are provided only for tickets arriving at or departing from Kansai International (KIX) or Itami (ITM). Please note that the grant will not be provided if the ticket involves landing at and staying in other airports in Japan. (Transit through other airports in Japan without stopovers on connecting flights is permitted.) The primary purpose of the trip must be to attend the 66th JSN meeting.
