Awards and Travel Grant

*We ask that you refrain from booking flight tickets and accommodation until you confirm the status of landing permission from overseas around the time of the meeting. (The JSN will not be responsible for you flight / accommodation cancellation fee.)

*Travel Grant cannot be provided if the travel grant winner cannot give a presentation on site.

Best presentation award for international participants

The JSN reviewers will give "the best presentation award for international participants" to the best presenter in nominees. The awards ceremony will be held in the Get Together on May 29 (Wednesday).

Travel Grant

The Japanese Society of Neurology and AOCN2024 encourages neurologists in other countries to submit abstracts on clinical studies and basic research in the oral and poster presentation. If Travel grant is approved, part of travel expenses (excluding accommodation expenses) will be covered by the Society. Please confirm the instructions below before you apply for travel grant.

Deadline of application for Travel Grant

November 24 (Friday), 2023 at noon (Japan Standard Time)

To applicants
  1. Neurologists or neurology residents applied from other countries other than Japan and neurologists or neurology residents studying or working in Japan are eligible.
    Only one abstract per applicant is acceptable.
  2. Applications are accepted only through online registration.
  3. An applicant must be the first author and presenter of the submitted abstract.
  4. Travel grants will be provided for the awardees after presentation of their abstract.
  5. The Society will cover a part of your travel fee (excluding accommodation expenses) for attendants travelling from other countries other than Japan. The amount of travel grant that the awardees can receive will be decided depending on the peer review score and the distance from your country to Japan.
    The Society will cover a part of your travel fee (excluding accommodation expenses) for attendants studying or working in Japan.
    Please note that complimentary accommodation will not be offered, and all arrangement of applicant's transportation to the venue and accommodation during the congress period will be applicant's responsibility.
  6. Please note that the applicant will be responsible for visa requirements and processing the visa for entry to Japan. Please check the details of visa requirements at the page of Visa application.
  7. Reviewing result will be announced on this website around the middle of February.
  8. No age limitation
  9. Please note that the applicants who come to Japan for another meeting in the same period and another organization pay for their travel to Japan cannot receive Travel Grants.
  10. Travel grants are provided only for tickets arriving/departing at Haneda(HND) or Narita(NRT) airports. Please note that it will not be paid if the ticket goes through other airports in Japan. The primary purpose of the trip must be to attend the 65th JSN meeting (AOCN2024).
How to apply

As you go through the online abstract submission process, you will find the "Travel Grant" section.

Please select "JSN travel grant" or "AOAN travel grant".

The "AOAN travel grant" is available to applicants whose countries of affiliation are the following AOAN member countries, and also low-income countries or lower middle income countries.
